2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic Sedan Recalled

Due to an unfortunate flaw in the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic’s power assisted steering program the line of cars has been recalled to prevent increased risk of crash. There are no reported crashes so far, but due to a software error in the power steering system there could be a failure of power steering reducing the responsiveness of the vehicle. 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic Recalled For Steering Problem



WASHINGTON — Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling 17 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic sedans because of a steering problem, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.



“In the affected vehicles, the electric power steering assist system may shut down due to a software error,” NHTSA said in its recall summary. “If the vehicle experiences a loss of power steering assist, extra steering effort will be required at lower speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.”



The affected vehicles were built from November 4, 2015 to March 1, 2016.



A Mercedes-Benz spokeswoman did not respond immediately to a query from Edmunds asking if there are any injuries or crashes linked to the recall. Continue Reading
