Cautionary Tale in Street Repair



A Mercedes C-300 owner in Lake Forest, California heard their deal of a lifetime when two men solicited her to do body work on her car to remove a key scuff for the low price of $700.



When they had finished their work the job seemed well enough done for her to pay the men, but when she went through the car wash, her paint began to flake away to reveal the scam. This should be a grim reminder for all luxury car owners to get all their Mercedes body repair done at licensed repair shops.





LAKE FOREST, Calif. (KABC) —



A Lake Forest woman said she was scammed by men offering to do body work on her Mercedes C-300, but left thousands of dollars worth of damage to the vehicle.



Karin May said two men posed as body shop workers and approached her on July 30 at about 2 p.m. She had some smaller key scratches on her vehicle that she wanted removed.



“One was wearing a Toyota shirt and the other was wearing a Lexus shirt and they said this is what they do for a living,” recalled May. Continue Reading
