Mercedes Benz S-Class 2030?

Ready for Mercedes-Benz 2030 Models?

While it’s not confirmed what class this imagination by Mercedes designer Gorden Wagener will be, what we do know is that it is known as the Transformer 3.0 with flexible materials allowing the car to morph its shape to be more aerodynamic at various speeds. Oh, did we mention that it drives its self? That should have been a no brainer as any good car of the future should be self driving.

While you won’t find any transforming chassis parts, you can find some factory fresh updates for your Benz by clicking here and finding your model.

What will we be driving in the year 2030? Perhaps the Mercedes-Benz Concept Digital Core if Daimler AG’s head designer Gorden Wagener has a say. Wagener’s renderings, created specifically for the German publication Auto Bild, present the marque’s response to the Rolls Royce Vision Next 100 concept—both offering full autonomous driving and comprehensive connectivity.

Building from the Mercedes-Benz Concept IAA (that debuted at last year’s Frankfurt auto show), the futuristic fastback will be replete with sensors and cameras intended to monitor the driver’s vision and transmit the information through an extensive “intelligent” fiber optics system. The intuitive operating system will handle all aspects of the transportive experience. Continue Reading

New Generation G-Wagon Looks like a Relic

While far from a mainstay Mercedes-Benz line, the G-Wagon does eventually come around for an update every few years. The new photos snuck of the new generation of G-Wagons hardly looks like much of an update at a glance, but the acute eye could spot the wider stance of this beast, meaning it will have a roomier feeling cab and room for all sorts of amenities, all while shedding 900 lbs.

If you’re still driving the old G-Wagon that weighs as much as 2 normal cars, you might want to click here and look into replacing your stressed-out suspension.

The more things change, the more they stay the same, as they say. Changes to the Mercedes-Benz G-Class occur about as often as a labor strike in Major League Baseball. The current G-wagen is still popular, so why risk messing up a good thing? Change is scary, and for nearly 40 years, the G-Wagen has flown in the face of practicality, efficiency, and safety. We now have spy shots of the SUV’s replacement, and, at first glance, it doesn’t seem that much different.

Despite the camouflage, you can spot the differences on the new G-Class. The new model appears to be noticeably wider. The current model is from an age where cupholders didn’t exist and cars made do with fewer than 20 speakers. The extra space should provide plenty of room for both. Other than the width, the new styling looks more like evolution than sea change. Lines are still mostly straight and angles are still about 90 degrees. Continue Reading

Mercedes-Benz Announces Successful Test Of Future Bus

The internet has been all over the idea of self-driven cars as the way of the future, a luxurious idea of always being a passenger in your own car as your car and chauffeur are integrated into one high tech and smart system. Mercedes has strayed from this fantasy and given it one amazing practical application in the future bus that just successfully drove 20 kilometers without the need of any manual corrections. This feat shows the possibility of driverless public transport.

Now, to ensure that you can ride in a Mercedes without taking public transportation, keep up maintenance and click here for any parts you need to tune up that beautiful car.

Some people have theorized that self-driving cars and ride-hailing apps will lead to the end of public transport, but really, you still can’t beat the efficiency of cramming a load of people into a single bus. Combine that with autonomous driving tech and you might have a whole new sort of public transport. At least, that’s what Mercedes-Benz thinks, and its semi-autonomous Future Bus program has just passed a major milestone: navigating a route of more than 20 kilometers.

Now, this is nothing compared to the million-plus kilometers traveled by Google’s self-driving cars, but every journey starts with single step (or rotation of the wheel). The Future Bus followed a route from Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport to the town of Haarlem, a journey that included numerous bends, tunnels, and traffic lights. Local laws meant that the bus had to have a human driver ready to take over in an emergency, but Mercedes-Benz says all its extra technology — collectively known as CityPilot — means the end ride is more safe and efficient. Recently Revealed Mercedes-AMG GT R Will Have Surprisingly Short Run

Ever since its release, the new GT R has gotten a whole lot of attention in the media. It’s been scouted by Michael Bay to be one of the next Transformer’s movie’s autobot protagonists and been preordered by YouTube personality Shmee150. With all of this media hype you’d expect Mercedes to roll out production and rank in the bank for their amazing car. They’re doing exactly the opposite with announcing that no more than 2000 will be produced worldwide making this one of the most exclusive cars of the modern market.

So while it is likely you won’t be able to get your hands on the GT R, you can still feel like you’re behind the wheels of one by upgrading your engine and going on from there until your Mercedes-Benz may as well be an honorary GT R.

Lewis Hamilton even blurted something about an LH Series of the GT R, but I’m exactly sure that will pan out. More recently, Autocar reports that Mercedes-AMG has hinted that production of the GT R “could be limited to just 2,000 units, when asked about build numbers at the car’s recent launch.”

If you ask me, that’s a teeny-weeny bit uncanny. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG of yesteryear, for example, sold a total of 2,733 units in Gullwing and Roadster forms throughout its production cycle in the U.S. alone. Why would the mad professors in Affalterbach limit production of the GT R other than for the sake of exclusivity is beyond me. Be that as it may, Mercedes-AMG is reportedly working on an even more extreme Black Series iteration.

That said, the next model to debut in the GT lineup is the Roadster. Slated to arrive in 2017, the open top variant of the GT be available in two flavors: 462 PS (456 hp) and 600 Nm (442,5 lb-ft) or 510 PS (503 hp) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. Estimated time of arrival? Next year at either Detroit or Geneva. Continue Reading

Massive Safety Recall Includes New Mercedes E-Class Coupe

Takata airbags have become a popular brand for almost every auto-industry giant, including Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Toyota, Volkswagen and more. Sadly though, it looks like Mercedes would have benefitted from manufacturing their own safety measures for their vehicles as 2016 and 2017 Takata airbags have been found with a fault that has caused 13 deaths and over 100 injuries.

While it seems the best measure is to follow the recall due to the externally manufactured part, for those with older Mercedes be sure to look into keeping your drive safe. We’d recommend looking into Steering and fresh Brakes to increase control on the road.

Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Daimler Van vehicles have been added to a list of new cars and trucks being sold with potentially defective airbags made by Takata Corp.

A report released Wednesday by Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.), who leads a Senate commerce committee, cites several makes and models that are equipped with part in question.

Takata-made airbags are part of an unprecedented recall that spans 14 automakers and 22 brands, and includes some 34 million vehicles in the U.S.

At the heart of the recall is an airbag inflator that can become explosive and send metal pieces flying through the cabin of the vehicle when it’s deployed.

Nelson’s report adds these vehicles to the list of new cars and trucks with defective airbag inflators: Continue Reading

Mercedes-Benz Drops Uncontended Superstar On The Market

Mercedes has answered the age old question of how to create the perfect car for the market. This secret was to take an already successful powerhouse on the market and raise the price by $20,000 to cram it full of some of the most luxurious features possible. The Mercedes-Maybach takes everything great from the Benz S600 and turns it into the perfect chauffer car, with the most accommodating back seat design seen on the market.

While it might be hard to extend your already excellent Benz to accommodate this luxurious First Class back seat, click here and look into upgrading your interior.

It must have been a horror for Mercedes to see its position as the ultimate German luxury automobile brand challenged by BMW, Audi, and Volkswagen. Three brands that initially have, and in the case of Volkswagen still does, produce entry-level cars.

Mercedes’s board of directors must have more than a few sleepless nights over the fight between Volkswagen and BMW over the control of Rolls-Royce/Bentley (see The Bentley Bentayga: You Will Love The $160,000 Dashboard Clock Option).

When the dust settled around the British automobile icons, BMW had become the proud new owner of Rolls-Royce while Volkswagen controlled Bentley. Mercedes’s supremacy as the oldest and most regal German car manufacturer was on the line – or so it must have felt to the company’s board. Continue Reading

U.S. Market Gets First Taste Of Mercedes-Benz 2017 E-Class

The E300 4Matic has made its first visit to the states and it looks like it will be making a big splash when it returns with the fleet to hit the market. As expected of the E-Class line, it has a modest exterior with a few sleek lines through the design that help break up the monotony and make it more than just a plain Jane. But what matters most is what’s on the inside, and when you see the interior off these Benz you’ll fall in love.

Furthermore, much of the car’s mechanical components have been replaced with aluminum versions, trimming 100 pounds and making this sleek machine quite the efficient beast. For those with older E-Class models who are getting a little jealous, click here and see about sprucing up your own interior.

Ask Mercedes-Benz what built the bones of the brand, and they will cheerfully tell you that it was the stalwart E-Class that cemented Mercedes’ role as innovators in not just the luxury midsize segment, but the industry as a whole. The redesigned 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class unsurprisingly remains one of the segment standards, arriving with the level of design, quality, and technology we have come to expect of the three-pointed star.

Like the middle child it is, the 2017 E-Class blends the style of both the smaller, sportier C-Class and the luxe-centric S-Class into a smooth and well-designed executive package. When the cover dropped on the new E-Class back in January of this year, we can’t say we were surprised. Like the brand’s recently refreshed SUV lineup, the E-Class has a bit of every other Mercedes in both its bodylines and face. Continue Reading

Cars and Fine Art Mingle for The Portrait of the American Ice Cream Man

While not the kind of canvas that you would expect in fine art museums, Mercedes offered up a small Sprinter Van to artist Gregory Siff who proceeded to hand paint ice cream advertisements all over the surface of the vehicle to give it a lovingly rendered small business ice cream truck look. Every white inch of the truck has been utilized as a joyous canvas that is intended to take viewers back to their childhood with red white and blue bomb pops and every other ice cream you’d remember from your childhood.

And what every good ice cream truck needs is good air conditioning, and every resident who can visit their local galleries to see the display would also benefit from a tuned up air conditioning system to help them survive the summer.

You’re not likely to see a Mercedes-Benz van used too often as an ice cream truck — unless you’re perhaps wandering the streets of Cannes Monaco or visiting a new art exhibit in Los Angeles this month. Since the French Riviera lends itself more to gilded gelato over red, white and blue bomb pops, your best shot would definitely be LA.

Currently, Mercedes-Benz and the 4AM Gallery teamed up to present artist Gregory Siff for the unveiling of The Portrait of the American Ice Cream Man. The automaker commissions its favorite artists to contribute to its cultural promotions around the world, and Siff’s latest work commemorates the 10 Year anniversary of The Deitch Parade in NYC where the artist introduced his popular work, The Marshmallows.

On display through July at 422 S. Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90013, Siff’s work looks to recreate his experience of childhood through becoming a man in Los Angeles. Mercedes-Benz offered up a small Sprinter Van as a pristine, white canvas to represent a glimpse into those child years. Continue Reading.

The Best Mercedes Off-Road Experience

The Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4 has seen an amazing tune up and facelift from Masonry, a Swiss tuning company who have an apparent fondness of carbon fiber. Many of the G500’s components have been replaced with carbon fiber versions making this truck built like a bomb shelter and the look is pulled off fabulously.

This tuneup wasn’t just a makeover though, as various upgrades have given the G500 an extra 52 horsepower and 73 lb-ft of torque. The big secret to this upgrade was a fancy new Exhaust System that allowed the already powerful engine to breath better and function to its full potential.

Outlandish Swiss tuning company Mansory has applied its know-how to the Mercedes G500 4×4², making the standout off-roader even more conspicuous than before.

If you like carbon fibre, Mansory’s take on the G500 4×4² should be right up your alley. The firm has applied a new carbon fibre vented hood, carbon fibre headlight surrounds with LED headlights, carbon fibre fender flares and a carbon fibre roof and spoiler. There’s also carbon fibre door handles, exterior trim and taillamp covers.

Backing up the sporting looks is a lighter and louder sport exhaust system. The exhaust helps the G500 4×4²’s 4.0-litre BiTurbo V8 breath a bit better, resulting in an increase of 52hp and 73 lb-ft of torque for a total of 468hp and 522 lb-ft. Continue Reading

New Benz to Be Upcoming ‘Transformers’ Movie Star

The sexy new Mercedes-AMG GT R has hit the market and attracted a lot of attention with its sleek looks and amazing performance. Most interesting of all, the car has caught Michael Bay’s attention and he intends to use the car in ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ as the character Drift.

With all the action and destruction that goes in those movies, we’re sure Drift is going to need some new Body replacements to get back in shape for round 2 with Decepticons.

The fire-breathing new 198 mph Mercedes-AMG GT R that we told you about last month is already attracting interest in Hollywood. Specifically it’s been cast as “Drift” in the 5th installment in Michael Bay’s Transformers series, The Last Knight, due out next year.

The barely road-legal AMG GT R takes over the, um, role from a Bugatti Veyron, and will rev up beside the new Bumblebee Camaro and evil Barricade Mustang (below) previously revealed by Bay. Read More
